Sounds like a good deal; could make three people happy. Your 326 may be a desirable tractor to a collector. 423s, however, are a dime a dozen, especially with a bad engine.
Not that it matters much, but are you sure the 423 has direct injection? I think it has glow plugs as opposed to e.g. a 453, which has direct injection and no glow plugs.
Questions:
Does the 423 have Agriomatic or a separate hand cluth (i.e. life PTO)?
Does the 423 have an underslung exhaust? (I've never seen one, but can be modified.)
Make sure it is not a narrow tread orchard model; you will not like that on hills.
Have you looked at the amount of fabrication that will be required to modify the mounts for your loader? It may be cheaper to look for a direct fit loader. Your skinny Baas loader may be no match for a 423 anyway.
I said the direct injection because the same motor is used in the 353, 383, and 453...Could be wrong tho...
Frontloader swap isn't important if it don't fit easy, just thought because mine is a catII that I only had to worry about the mount.
Other info, I don't know because he hasn't got the tractor yet. I'm not sure, but believe it's the one in the link. Looks rough but I won't consider or look at it until he tells me he has something ready for me. At that point, I'll make a decision hopefully based on the advice I get between now and then. Whatever it is will also have new tires because they are the same size as mine and I will swap them out. If this is itz, I am a little concerned about the 10,000 + hours but it doesn't look to be abused (neglected but not abused) and can't see any signs that it had a front loader on it. The motor will be replaced with a new rebuild also.
