Buddy was over yesterday bringing back the horse trailer he borrowed. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer bud has a big heart. Always good for soul to have a laugh and bask yourself in the knowledge that your occassional slipups are a drop in the bucket compared to some.......
This is the guy that came to look at a drum mower that I was practically giving him and started picking at it. I ran him off but he ended up with it later from the guy that I sold it to. First day he hooked it up on the tractor he busted the PTO shaft by trying to run the mower in transport position (ujoints wasn't crazy about them 90 degree angles) after I had showed him what to do and warned him about putting in position before engaging PTO.
Gave him a bar rake that he managed to bust up some on uneven ground cause he used a solid top link after I told him that he needed a chain (and even gave him one with it that he used while taking it home) cause he was smarter than me.....
Lives about 15 miles away and needed the horse trailer for several trips so I told him to just keep it at his place and we'd get it if we needed it in an emergency. All good, then he brought it back yesterday and parked it on the street across from the house. Asked him if he was finished and he said no, still has to pick up his mare this week.... I asked the obvious ???? of why didn't you just keep it? Said he needed the space where he had it parked and didn't want to park it on the street...I give him this blanklook and say "but you parked it on the street here........."
THEN....... we were talking about doing hay. Asked him if he was finished and he said yea but it liked to kill him from the heat...... His tractor has a cab. Asked him what was wrong and he said that the windows onle tilt out an inch or so and the little vents in frt didn't do much.......
Asked him why he just didn't open the door (or lift it off) and open the back glass......... He changed the subject and went home......
I didn't even laugh......Now THAT'S people skills.......
