I've got a 2 year old Cub Cadet that we refer to as our POS--Piece of "Stuff." Bought it new and it started breaking within the first week (gas tank leaked where the guage went in). Spent more time in the shop than I had it for the first couple of months. I wrote a nice letter to Cub Cadet describing the situation and my misgivings about the dealer's ability to fix it, and got a form letter back that said take it to the dealer and they'll fix it. Now I just fix what matters myself, and let all the trim and plastic crud fall off. I am not hard on stuff--most of my equipment is years old and running fine. Electrical is a major problem, as it seems like I'm always troubleshooting a short, broken switch, or loose wire. Engine and drive train seem ok, although frequently the engine will shut down because one or another of the 'safety switches' has failed. Last week I started hunting them down, cutting them out and soldering the wires together. I spent a bundle on this thing, and it doesn't run as well as my cheapie "no name" lawn tractor.
