GM has a product for that called top engine cleaner. Same deal, dump a half can in while holding the idle up then a quick slosh and kill it. Go back in a while and start it up and finish with the rest of the can. It will FILL a parking lot with smoke! I had a motor on a stand and put just enough in each cyl to cover the pistons and the next day the carbon was floating on top of the stuff in one chunk. Poured it out and the pistons looked brand new with no scrubbing! Ken
