I have a front mounted blade on a '48 Cub. With just wheel weights and chains you'd be surprised at how much snow it can push. I will probably add some weight to the draw bar at some point to increase the traction, but even without it it does a good job. Rpms do decrease some when the clutch is depressed. A little transmission noise is normal. My Cub transmission started to get real noisy idling in neutral with the clutch released, so I split the tractor and replaced the transmission mainshaft bearings. Not really a bad job, and upon disassembly I found the bearings worn, but they probably could have been used for quite sometime without hurting anything. My 2 cents worth. Good Luck. Geoff
