806 shift problems

my 806 is very hard to shift at times,when there is any pressure againist the transmission.i have heard that there is some sort of a fix for these older I.H. shifts. can a "66" series shift be installed on these tractors? where could i find one and the cost to install it. i am sure you guys has had this problem. thanks for any help you might have. gary.
