You do need to pull the crank and have it ground because new bearings wont fix it if the crank needs to be ground and then replaced with new over sized bearings. They will grind the crank round again thus making the crank journals under original size thus new bearings will be thicker to replace what has been ground off the crank.You can install standard new bearings without grinding crank but they wont last and you will be just like you are now. Have you miked the old bearings as that will tell you how bad thry are worn. Sometimes you can get new bearings that are 2 thous over.
