First, is the noise while in gear, load or no load (uphill, down hill) in any certain gear, and/or in neutral? 6v will turn the engine much slower than 12v.. About the only drawback I know of personally... And for the gas situation, that's excess. There's a drain on the bottom designed not to allow fuel to accumulate. Yeah, most of 'em do it. My M only does it if it doesn't start on the the first try.
