Do you have a SM with a 2 bolt or 3 bolt starter mounting now? Do you have a Engine driven hydraulic pump now? If a 2 bolt starter you will need a 3 bolt one. Need the 450 clutch & PP. If no engine driven hydraulics you will need that and some type of reservoir, piping and valve. If you use the 450 transmission top cover, modification to mount the steering post and the shift lever will need bent and maybe made shorter. Need to make a rear fuel tank mount. Need longer throttle rod, choke rod, wires ETC. Longer rear steering shaft needed. Use one from a 400 if you want a keyed steering wheel from the SM. If not use the 450 shaft and steering wheel. If you put the SM rear steering post on the 400 transmission top, put spacer on the bottom to raise it 3/4 inch. If you want all bolt on parts find some SMTA shift forks, install them on the SM top cover and install it on the 450 transmission. Get the hydraulics and reservoir from a stage 2 SM or a SMTA and they fit on the SM top cover and also takes care of the rear fuel tank mount. SM live hydraulic suction and pressure hydraulic lines would need more length to reach. Also with the SM top cover the steering post still needs raised 3/4 inch to match the steering shaft angle. Steering shaft raises as it goes toward rear of tractor and the steering post will be mounted about 5 inches more to rear compared to the SM.
