Good afternoon all,
Well, I got a chance to sit down with my uncle today - first time in about 7 years. Caught up on a lot of things, he showed me many of his projects, and it was good to see him. Probably going to try to get up sometime throughout the winter to get some ice fishing in. He did, however, deliver some heart wrenching news. My grandfather's 1940 M (with a Farmhand "Standard" loader) that my uncle had is no longer in the family. My uncle (Norm) GAVE the tractor away to a friend of his, named "Olie". This friend happens to restore Internationals, and he thought it would be going to a good home. He had no idea that I was still into tractors. So now the hunt is on. Apparently, this gentleman has since restored the tractor and drives it in local shows (near the Alexandria, MN area) Maybe the Dalton, MN Threshing Show/Parade?
Let me clarify, if this gentleman visits the forum, or if members know of him, I'm not trying to solicit a way to purchase the tractor - at least not at this point in my life. I don't have the room (too many others in my garage). BUT, with that said, I would like to at least keep in contact with this person so that should he decide to sell, that I may have the opportunity to purchase grandpa's tractor and reunite it with the Case that I have that was also grandpa's. Any leads are much appreciated! And yes, I'll keep working on my uncle to maybe get a little information exchanged as well. I have enclosed a photo of the tractor - it was in pretty poor shape.

Today's Featured Article - Box Plow Blues - by Tom Schwarz. One of the first implements most tractor owners obtain is the box plow. For very little money, this piece of equipment promises to plow and flatten any hill or vale on your ranch road or farm. At least that's what I thought! As simple as a box plow appears, it can be rather challenging to make work correctly. In our sandy soils of Florida, traction is king. You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
