Greeting, 30 acres is a lot of hay. Here in Central Ga Bermuda hay is producing around 5-7 round bales per acre per cut. This year we only got 1 cut, but in good years we get three. I bought 15 round bales this year from a man who cuts my neighbor har for him. $30 per bale and my other neighbor brought them to my place for me. His Ford 4000 would not pick the bales up he had to use his MF Turbo deisel to move them. Anyway, I use my 140 Farmall to drag the bales to where I want them. I caution you on doing this, I use by disk harrow as sort of a wheelie bar to keep the front end on the ground when starting, I keep the power setting low to keep the tractor under control. Once the bale is moving the tractor does not even strain. I use a 25 foot chain, tied on end to the disk harrow just like you would a rope, and then I place the chain around the bale, I have a large hook on the other end, and I place the chain in this hook, as I take up the slack the chain tightens around the bale and makes this all work. My tractor only has about 25 hp on a good day. I offer this as a suggestion as to getting the complete baling rig.
