PTO HYD PUMP PREBLEMS?

Back again. G ot pump all hooked up plumbed in and filled with oil. Hooked up to logsplitter and will push cylinder out but not back in. Pump seems to get plenty warm more than it should in 5 minutes. Is it possible the pump is bad? It also is leaking oil inside where the pto shaft goes.Has new seals in it. Or is it possible I dont have a two way valve? It is the same type that my neighbor has on his grapple fork that has pressure poth ways. Thanks again probably be back.
