Ken: the oil is compression related it is coming from the sandwich /composition hd. gskt, I bought it right cause' the guy didnt want to spend mucho $$$ to fix it. It burned oil badly and had a burned ex. valve. Replaced 2 valves & 1 seat, did a 3 angle valve job on it while I was at it, I do this stuff my self. The lifter galley gskt. is dry. I know bout' that, ya' jus'have to tighten them a little at a time as you use them and they usually will dry up. Sometimes you can use RTV without a gaskett and do a nice job if you don't glob it all over. its an early one, generator equipped, the dash cluster is stamped 63' ser# is 4 numbers the engine was a IH reman. tho, as all gskts/ beg.were stamped IH and dated 82' the bore was std. and wasn't sleeved, crank was welded/reground std. typical of factory reman. it realy wasn't in that bad of shape except water got into bore so I had to rebore it, yada yada yada. its a working tractor, 50 acres or so. thanks,George
