need some engine rebuild advice

I have my F12 all back together after replacing rings and cleaning everything inside and out. Just a few minor things left before it will be time to start it up. But I'm worried that I make a mistake. Advice welcome. The engine is so tight, the hand crank just about won't turn it over. Feels like I could break the crank it's so tight. OK, so here is where I think I messed up: When I replaced the rings, I left the wavy metal spacer under the oil control rings, even though none came with the new set. Bet that is what is making it so tight. Sound right? So, I suppose I need to get them out of there? Any chance I can do it from beneath? Don't know what I was thinking...
