Hold your hand over the throat of the carburetor while a helper makes an attempt to start the engine. Should have good suction. If the suction is weak is an indication of low intake manifold vacuum. Hal PS: Remove the tube fitting on the carburetor where the gas line connects and look for a screen that may be plugged with crud.
