Do not disconnect the battery with it running. It is not a test that means anything, and will possibly destroy components. Especially on alternator equipped machines. If it is not running and you turn on the lights, does it move to the left, discharge? if so at least the amp gauge and lights are correct. If it shows no charge when running, and stays running when you pulled off the bat POS (don't do it again) it is charging, but you may have the wire from the Bat terminal on the regulator hooked to the wrong side of the amp meter. Check that if so. When running the voltage on a well charged battery should be about 14.2 to 14.6 volts. if the bat is down a little it might be 14 volts. This is measured from bat terminal to bat terminal at 3/4 throttle. If it is in that range it is charging. If the amp meter shows discharge, the wires are still not right from the Regulator to the amp gauge. Jim
