My IH dealer says he sells both kind of gas caps. I'm thinking of buying one of the old-style caps for more authenticity during engine off display, if I ever get my C near a condition worthy of display. I do note that in certain light conditions you can see the effect of fuel vapor coming out of the vent hole on the safety-style cap. Also, I understand that a near empty tank is more explosive than a near full tank. At least that is the way it works in airplane fuel tanks. As you all may know, airplanes are always grounded during refueling. Having the tractor fuel tank right there in front of me all the time always worries me a small bit. Static electricity build up can't be much of a problem during normal tractor operation, but I wonder about belt pulley work? Sorry to ramble.
