Hi Rober, my brother uses a tank heater on his 684.
See photo I found on internet of 574 with tank heater mounted behind front motor mount. Requires a tank heater some heater hose, pipe clamps and pipe nipples. There are two plugs to removed and replaced by pipe nipples, one on the water manifold at front top right of engine and the engine block drain just above the starter on left side of the engine. The cold water line is connected to bottom of tank heater and the nipple in the block drain above the starter. The hot water line is connected to the top of tank heater and heater hose is routed around behind fan and to the nipple installed in the water manifold.
Note the tank heater has to be mounted like the one in the photo with the top of the tank below the level of the pipe nipple in the block drain. This is required to allow the hot water to rise and circulate thru the block.
