The pan will not hold any weight at all. Use the clutch housing behind the engine. Use more than just the jack, block it up with wood, not concrete. The lower bolster is heavy and very awkward. just jack enough to get the tires just touching the ground, and get help. The shaft is held upward by the nut on the sector gear. It is also (now) held up by the taper in the gear. It will need some love taps, and propane torch heat to expand its taper grip on the upper bolster shaft. Do not hammer on the threaded shaft you will destroy the threads, Out the nut on flush with the top, and use a brass or alloy aluminum buffer to avoid damage. The grease in it now is probably corn head grease. It is appropriate to use that, red Mobil 1 synthetic chassis grease, or 90 wt gear oil. The 90 wt leaks out far easier than the others. Jim
