With the battery charged, connect the positive cable securely. Leave the negative cable disconnected. Connect a voltmeter between the negative battery post and the negative cable. My meter has clips on the two leads. If there is a voltage reading, something on the tractor is draining the battery. Start disconnecting the electrical loads and when the voltmeter reading drops to zero, that device is the problem. Some of the problems I have found are a wet manual starter switch after washing the tractor and enough trash from bushhogging on the top of the battery on my (non-red) working tractor to cause a 2 volt drain on the battery. A sticking generator relay is possible. If the meter shows no voltage, suspect the battery and have it load tested. Such a tester is really useful- saves some trips to the store because I can test batteries myself.
