I finally have time to post some pics of Farmall H before restoration and after. This was the last tractor my Grandfather bought and I was fortunate with the opportunity to by it about 10 years ago. I have been thru the tractor from back to front fixing everything on it up until about a 2 months ago when it went off for body work and paint. Here is a list of some of what was done. Saginaw 3pt hitch (I needed it for tedding hay), front weights (for the 3pt hitch), 4th and 5th sliding gear, front and rear axle seals, new rear rims and tires, front tires, new belt pulley, new clutch, complete overhaul of engine and steering system, new brakes, boiled out the radiator, new hoses, changed distributer, electronic ignition, and 12 volt conversion. I am sure I am forgetting a lot but that’s a start. Originally I had wanted to keep it all original but over the years I needed to use the tractor for more than just raking hay. It is so nice to have two tractors with three point hitches. I would like to thank everyone that has helped me with this restoration, my friends Glenn, George, YTMAG, Red power magazine,Joe schmitt (paint and body work), and most importantly my new wife who made me finish it before our wedding. For all of you that have restored tractors you know how much goes into them and what their value is when you are done. They are priceless in our eyes. I still have a few things to finish up on it but I will get to them this fall. I want to have some name plates made up for the frame rails with my family’s farm name and the year it was founded. I will post pics from the wedding when I get them.
