We have all the hay done that we are going to get done based on the weather so I have about a week here where I might have some free time now and again and would like to finish up the 300U band adjustment and linkage repair. When I last posted I was working on the linkage as there was a lot of play and it would not operate the bands. I removed the control arm and the threaded end of the lever it slides onto was stripped smooth along with the nut AND it was bent. I straightened and cut new threads and it is fine. I am now looking at the Woodruff key and the slot on the two parts for the key. Parts book says #7 key. From what I am looking at I have much wider slot on the linkage part than I have on the control arm. Don't think there is a key that will be fatter on the round end than on the flat end so I am fishing for alternatives. I know Jim mentioned a round (compression?) type pin solved his problem. Maybe if he or anyone else has suggestions I could consider before I blunder off on my own? I imagine I could line up the two parts and drill thru and put in a pin. Anything easier you all can think of? Thanks.
