I have a 660 D setup with an Elwood 4wd conversion. I bought it at an auction about ten years ago. It was being used at a hilly apple orchard in eastern NY not far from Rutland, VT. It will fit any M sized tractor from 1939 through 1962. It works fine but does look kind of fragile. I wouldn't want to run it through any rough terrain for fear of shearing off the chain drive box that extends downward from the gear box mounted in lieu of the belt pully. On TA equipped models, the TA has to be disabled. On my tractor the planet gears have been welded to the carrier. It can be engaged in all five forward gears and reverse. Elwood used surplus axels from M-38 Dodge weapons carriers. The wheels were manfactured by them. The gear box and chain box are their's. The front tires are 8-24. I believe that Elwood also made conversions for the 806 and IH installed these on new tractors. I would like to put the Elwood on my Electrall equipped 400 but there isn't enough room.

Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
