My I & T shop manual states that "all" 574s at 2200rpm produce 12 gpm of which 3 gpm goes through the priority valve to the steering leaving 9 gpm for the aux. valve. The manual further states that using a test rig 1250 psi minimum should be available. I made a 3 point mount splitter for my 574 but I mounted a reservoir tank and a pump (pto driven). This way when I loan it, I don't get other hydraulic oil from the neighbors Ford tractor mixed with the HyTran. The tractor drives the splitter with the tractor engine at approx. 875 rpm. Hints for the splitter... get a cylinder with a large diameter shaft, mount the pusher to the shaft and let the pusher "float" using a guide system to hold the pusher to the beam. mount (weld) the wedge to a heavy plate (1 inch thick) and bolt (4 grade five 3/4inch diameter) the plate to the beam going through both top and bottom of beam, this allows for removal if necessary, mount the beam to where it can rest on the ground and if you have a large log you can roll it into position instead of having to pick the wood up, mount a trailer hitch on the end of the beam so that you can transport the splitter and a trailer in one trip. A log splitter is one device where overkill in the design is beneficial
