I have the Cummings also with 4x4 Quad cab.
The manual says :
5-spd manual tranny gross combined weight = 20,000
Max trailer weight short bed = 13,400
Max trailer weight long bed = 13,250
Auto with 3.55 rear end gross combined weight = 16,000
Max trailer weight short bed = 9,450
Max trailer weight long bed = 9,300
I have the short bed.
Curiously the 1-ton is rated to pull even less trailer weight.
5-spd = 12,950 and auto = 9,050
What size trailer do you have George?
Thanks
Dave

Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
