Roger - I've seen posts like yours where the person didn't even know enought about the machine he had purchased to know how to operate it. You know enough to at least ask questions. But My question is for clarification for others on this forum, Why did you buy something You knew so little about and had no experience with? Did You research it BEFORE you bought it? Do You live on a property where You can use it for yard maintainance or did you just buy it to fix up and if so Are you capable of fixing it yourself? I grew up on a 240 acre farm with 3 or 4 of these old FARMALLS on it all the time, I Worked AT the IH FARMALL Plant for 5 yr. before it closed and have never lived over 20 mi. from an IH Dealer. That's why I have a 1954 Super H and three Cub Cadets. I'm not trying to be smart, Just curious. It would be like me buying a parachute, and I don't really like to fly all that much, but if the plane is flying O-K I would have NO Intention of jumping out.
