well..im getting back to you guys... here is what I learned. N0.1 no more work in and old tin shed at 10 pm and 20 above trying to get something done in a hurry.Now about the engine...Put the main thrust bearing in with oil hole on bottom..needless to say it is fried.rest of mains show no wear that is visable to me anyway. crank still looks good ,at least to the eye anyway.That is where the little thump came from..Not sure if i can buy a thrust bearing only or if ihave but the set of 4.My old friend will be out in the morning to have a look..see what his verdict is. thanks all of you for your input ... there is always great imformation on this site thanks agin
