The touch control unit in front of the battery on my '49 C leaks. Are parts still available to repair/rebuild it and where do I get the parts? What is involved with tearing it apart? The C also has a cracked block behind the carb. and generator that was repaired with JB weld. It runs fine and doesn't leak any water and there doesn't appear to be any oil in the water. The JB is starting to fall off. I have read on this forum about drilling to stop the crack and welding it. I would like to know the size of drill bit to use and how deep to drill? Should I arc weld with an AC welder or braze it? What size rod? Should I heat the block up before welding and if so how do I go about heating it? The C is equipped with a coil and voltage regulator yet my grandfather's 49 C was equipped with a magneto. When did they switch or were they both availble? Thank you.
