I cleaned off at least 10 years worth of crud today. Following that I took off the valve cover and every thing looks like it moves ok. Nothing seems to be stuck but the crud inside is thick as pitch. My guess is the oil must be a non detergent type. I can't imagine that much crud from a detergent oil. Thinking all I had to do now was connect the electrical system and try to fire it up I thought I would turn the fan buy hand with the tractor in neutral and check the compression for myself. All 4 cylinder show 0 compression. Is this because the valve cover is off ? I can feel a little pressure from the exhaust pipe so it seems strange there would be no compression. Any help would be appreciated.
