Sir I thank you so much for taking the time to spell out in such detail how to check out my electrical system. I followed your instructions to a T. All the readings you said I should get where spot on to what I got. My coil was good but had no fire at the points. I filed the points the other night with no results. Did what you said with the dollar bill. When I pulled it out there was a pop and big bright spark. Put the cap back on and nothing. At this point I noticed the rotter bug sitting on the hood. Uuuugh. Put it in and presto she fired right off. I loaded it right up on the trailer and hauled it out to our show in Republic MO. I will be putting new plugs and points condenser and such on when I bring it home. I have a no charge issue I will have to look into next. I amp gauge never shows to the + or - and the battery seems to discharge very fast. May have a short in the gen or points stuck in the regulator. That will be a project for another day. This old tractor has sat for a long time and it sure was good to hear it run again. I printed off your advice and put it in my manual for the tractor. Once again, thank you so much. Paul Shuler.
