My 41 A (Zenith carb) does/did the same thing. At first I thought it was a hole in the float. Then I thought it was crud in the needle valve. Then I thought it was the float hanging up on the gasket, or maybe even adjusted wrong. Then I thought it was an internal gasket leak from the bowl into the barrel. Each time I fixed it, it was OK for a while. I posted my results here to tell the world what I discovered. Then it would start leaking again. It leaked this past summer, and I was just about to take it apart and try to fix it again when I actually needed to use the tractor for something. So I gassed it up and said I'd fix the carb leak as soon as I was done. Somehow magically it had stopped leaking. I left gas in it with fuel valve open and it hasn't leaked for a few months. Maybe now that I've posted the results it will start leaking again. Good luck.
