RB, Note in the post that it was stated that the problem was more obvious after a hot restart as well as an extended idle. It is the delay that ID's the fault. A rich carb will be rich all the time. The oil is running down the back of the intake valves and the valve stems. (Some times this condition will cause unburned back oil specks to be throwned from the exhaust or oil to weep from the exhaust manifold bolts. This is coming off the exhaust valves). After extended idling or shutdown the oil has time to accumulate on the intake valves and make its way into the engine. When the tractor is revved it sucks this accumulations in, smokes, and then the exhaust clears up until the tractor is allowed to go through the cycle again.
