I remember a couple of days ago there was a discussion about pistons. Seems like someone talked about these. I tore apart the M and lo and behold I had these pistons in there. When I ordered the rebuild kit I ordered stepped pistons. When I described these the guy (on here) that I ordered from wasn't sure exactly what I was talking about.
They are stamped with the IH logo on the skirt. They are "hilled" on the spark plug side only but have a dip in them where the plug matches up. It appears that the bottom end has never been apart but I don't know about the top end. The guides were so worn I'll bet the head hadn't been done. All of the numbers point to a 1950.
Were these gas only pistons? High altitude pistons? I think it was always a midwest tractor.
