I don't think it was ever torn down and rebuilt just by the condition of the tractor when I bought it. But I don't know much background on it so maybe at some time.... I think the pto flush idea is the way to go and I assume I will have to keep flushing the oil but that's a great way to eliminate some of it at least and its a good place to start.
