JJ, I agree. He was telling me he remembers when the first Farmall H was delivered to his Dad's dealership......he was about 6 or 7. He climbed up on and it was a BIIIIIIIIIIIG tractor! Anyway, somehow he managed to bump the starter and start it. He said the commotion that resulted was hilarious. Fortunately, I guess it wasn't in gear. I actually am thinking about recording our conversations if he is willing.
I still may call Gordon Rice and see if he would be willing to spend some time and be interviewed or tell some stories. These are the people who WERE THERE! they lived it, they saw it, and they still remember it. I for one can only listen to those 20 or 30 years my senior, and understand. I am 51 years old, and when I tell stories to my daughters you would think I grew up during the Ice Age!
People our age bridge the gap, and if we don't listen and record what we hear, some of this will be lost to the younger ones that will replace us.
