The first tractor to be named a Farmall was the first Farmall, which later became known as the Regular after the F20 and F30s came out. So, it was first used as a model name. Evidently it the name Farmall stuck and was applied to the line of tractors known as Farmalls (kinda like Chevrolet is a brand name applied to certain vehicles manufactured by GM). This info was what I found in a book written by Pripps (sorry Guy, I had to buy it in addition to yours). I think this answers the question you asked, but maybe I didn't understand the question at all.. Regards...BB
