My dad has a Hiniker cab on his 1206 with no AC. Having spent about 4000 hrs. on that tractor, I can say that once it hits about 85 degrees you can have all of the windows open and the fan running at full blast and you can still roast a hog in that cab if you're doing fieldwork. It's great in winter and an oven in summer.
Yes, if you'd insulate everyting in the Hiniker and put new weatherstripping everywhere and you'll cut down on the noise somewhat. Foam ear plugs are still cheap insurance if you want to protect your hearing.
The Hiniker on dad's 1206 is a better cab than the ice cream box cab he has on his 1256. That really isn't the greatest compliment, though. The ICB cab acts as an amplifier for every vibration and rear end noise. The Hiniker has a bit more room to stretch out. The ICB cab has that stupid door that folds up if you want it open and blocks your view to the left, and by far the Hiniker is the easier cab of the two to get into. At least the ICB cab door doesn't open foreward like the '86 series.
