Check to see if you have a lot of slop in the main supports that hold the mower in place. When the belts are tensioned it will pull the mower to the back and the clearances will be taken up. As you mow, the deck will flop about exerting additional pressure on the belt breaking the cords. If the clearances in the mower hangers are excessive you may have to correct the problem. Install the next new belt a little too loose and before you start mowing run the deck about 1/2 normal speed for about 15 minutes to season the belt to the mower. You may have to snug the tension some after the breakin. I think this combination will extend the life of the belt considerably
