Hi, I want to do some work to the engine on my 2606 with IH 3000 loader and backhoe. Remove the manifolds to find a leak and maybe adjust the valves and other stuff. Those 12" wide frame rails on the loader just doesn't allow any room to work on it.
It appears I can extend the hoe and level it with the hydraulics. Then block up the main body. Then remove the pins and it will unhook. Just have to disconnect the in and return hydraulic lines buy a #12 JIC to #16 JIC adapter to connect the hydraulic line to the return on the tractor so I can drive away.
However the front end loader is a different story. It has two front mounts with 4 bolts each and then 4 bolts at each axle along with some braces that hook to the hoe with pins. I don't know if everything will drop when I remove those bolts. I think I can disconnect the hydraulic line going to the loader valves and bull plug it for now. The front will sit on the bucket but I'm not sure how to block up the back of the loader so I can back out and have the axle mounts high enough to clear the front axle. I don't have any kind of overhead lift short of driving it under a shade tree. I can't see a way to block it up in back without the blocks getting in the way of trying to back out.
Any ideas here? I just don't want to start removing bolts and have something drop and cause an injury. I'll be doing this by myself.
Or is there a way I can remove the front brackets and move the frame rails safely away with the bucket hydraulics so I can get at the engine to pull the manifolds?
