Since you used the word restore and it is a 39 I would stick with the 36. Gonna cost a little more but its a first year of production tractor, might as well finish it right. My 39 F-20 has the 36 inch split rims, the danger of a tire with 15 psi on a split rim is grossly exaggerated in my opinion. The danger with split rims is when you are inflating the tire after mounting, inflate it with the ring down if you are worried about it. A clamp on air chuck with a hose with a shut off also gets you back out of the way just in case it would come off.
