Usually , and i said usually this problem all starts off from the clutch trans brake and dump valve adjustment getting out of wack , then the tugging and jerking on the shifter and this starts everything snowballing. and the next thing ya know YA Can't get it into reverse . To fix it will depend on just what is wore out and loose . Being that she has a cab on it it is going to be a good bit of work . First lets start off by getting the clutch adjustment set then ya move on to the trans brake then the dump valve and you can find my way of adjusting them in the archives here .Next pull the dash cowl off and see what all is loose and sloppy and get that fixed then move on down to the linkage under the platform and replace the two headed pins and see if this has helped . as to how much you have gained you may not have to go any feather . BUT if the top of the range transmission cover has ware and the cam that is under that cover is wore and if the reverse shifter rod that goes down to the shifting fork has the little keyway wore out then your going to have to tip the cab or pull the cab and deck plate to remove the range trans cover . and also the side cover on the left side of the rear end housing. There is no real adjustment to make up for ware . She will need to be fixed and since i can not see for myself how much fixen , that you will have to figure out . To have them shift wright ya can not have tomuch slop . I have repaired a bunch over the years , some were easy fixes and others took lots of work and parts. If ya were close to me it would not take long to figure out what was needed and not to long to fix.
