Been working on my trouble some 424. Got a bunch of stuff fixed, wallowed out steering gear, starter, ps leaks, rad hole and bought a $$$ pump for the 3 pt. It still has issues like the brakes locking up.
I did get to mow about 3 acres with it tho. Low range is kinda a nice thing to have in 4' tall grass.The 424 works pretty good, might be a lil weak since the ford had a worked over cylinder head.
I was actually happy with my 424 - making money with it. Then I sold it :D My friend is gonna sandblast it and repaint/ make it nice and shiny again. I did lose money from a money standpoint, but I did keep the du-al loader and the new set of chains. So i did okay i guess - just need another tractor now.....
