How is the compression? is the timing correct? If you sue ether will it even attempt to start?. After you crank it with no success if you pull the lugs out are they wet? 3 things you need to make an engine run are compression ignition and fuel. Is the spark a good blue color?
What size batter cables are you using- perhaps your getting enough voltage to turn it over but not enough to get power to the coil. How is the battery. Check the plugs for gas after trying to start it Check compression on all four cylinders. Check timing If you have spark I doubt it has to do with the starter switch, if its turning over.
