I bought a 1947 H for parts, but it ran too good so I have yet another project... fourth gear didnt work, I assumed I would pull the lid off and find the 4th sliding gear with no teeth... what I found was a smaller 36 tooth gear, with all of it's teeth, that lacked a good quarter of an inch from engaging onto the lower 4th gear on the counter shaft?? I got a good 4th/5th of ebay, installed it today and everything works perfect. The 36T removed is stamped T136G, incidentally, the inner teeth went onto the main drive gear perfectly, and it fit the main shaft perfectly. Anyone have any ideas what it is and why it would be there? My parts book doesnt list a 36T for any specialty application for an H or for an M.
