Hi, 434 clutch should have about 3/4" of free play measured from the foot rest. It is adjusted by loosening the two bolts on the clutch pedal were it is clamped to the clutch shaft. Loosen bolts a put wrench on squared end of clutch shaft, turn clutch shaft until spec is achieved. Tighten the two bolts. The clutch on 434 is a dual stage clutch meaning there are two clutch disks, one for transmission and one for PTO. There are pressure plate finger adjustments that can be done through the clutch inspection plate but the finger adjustment is mostly for the PTO clutch. Check for proper operation of clutch fingers through the inspection hole. BECAREFUL and chock the wheels well before crawling under the 434.
