Heres my two cents, a sloppy dist. will not idle nice and even, I rebushed mine and it helped. the low hp you describe has to be more than just that. Bad coils fail first under heavy load. Also do you have a good clean conections, at the dist, generator, battery and coil? That and clean your fuel system from tank to carb, blow compressed air through it. Good luck, sounds like your makeing maybe 10hp.
