I bought an F-30 for scrap price. Put another $400 in it to haul it home (gas, food, hotel 1 night). It is not running, and yet it is all there.
I estimate that I will have $2000 in the engine alone when I am done between parts and machine shop.
I'll have another $800 - $1000 in gaskets, parts, paint, etc, etc. and that is me doing most of the work. If the clutch ends up being bad, there is another $300 - $500 to redo all that's involved there.
so, let's add up what I will potentially end up paying for a NON-running, basket case 1936 F-30. $4500 (if I am lucky).
so, buy it. if not, it is still a very fair price. I live in Pa, and it is just killin' me to see the F-30's out west, running, at reasonable prices. Minimum for me to personally haul one back is around $1 per mile +/- if it is more than a day trip. There is what appears to be a decent one on this site in the "for sale" adds in Arkansas, and I priced having i hauled back to Pa: $2100
If you want one, and that price is ok to your pocketbook, then get it.

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
