My new tractor is like Johnny Cash's Cadillac. The serial tag is for a mid 1946 distillate H, the rear end/transmission case and axle housings are Y castings which indicate a 1953 Super H if I remember right. The trans top cover is a K casting if I remember right, clutch housing is an N and the best I can make out the block is a capital I, if they ever used that. The head is an 8043 DC which seems to be a gas H head as far as I can tell from research on here. I am wondering if the internal parts of the transmission area will be different from an H to a stage 1 super and if they are how I can tell. I'm going out now while the daylight lasts to try to move the loader onto my H and see if it is functional. One more question-would I find it beneficial to swap the 8043 DC gas head onto my H work tractor in place of the 8776 DA (as I recall) distillate head that it now has on it? Thank you very much for any advice on these matters. Zach

You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
