Hmmm, I guess I gotta look at that again, I plumb didn't notice that. I don't think I'd tear into mine to change it, since it works good. You should have some spring tension against the carb linkage with the engine off, though. By the way, I found that fixing my governor cost me about $600. That was about $75 in parts for the governor, a hundred or so for wheel bearings, gaskets, and miscellaneous parts (since it was out of service anyway), about $50 in spray bombs to repaint the whole tractor, and the rest for tools "I just had to have", including an air compressor. This old tractor stuff is fun! ;o)
