Hey Red - That location for the regulator (on the gas tank support) was not the best. If the tractor is left outdoors, rainwater dripping off the hood lip falls directly on the regulator. This causes it to slowly fill up with water. (You can probably figure how water in the regulator affects charging system performance...) Aside from access, mounting the reg on the steering post or on the generator is much preferred. Bob M
